2017 Olema Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2017 Olema Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes hand-selected from premier vineyards in Alexander Valley, Dry Creek and Rockpile in Sonoma County. This deeply-flavored wine features layers of fruit and a long, intense finish.
For Olema, the 2017 wine grape harvest will truly be remembered as a harvest of teamwork and dedication showed on all levels from our team, colleagues, friends and the first responders that saved our homes and livelihood. Almost all of our grapes were unaffected by the wildfires and this vintage is showing great promise with excellent quality, vibrancy and complexity to drink young or show through the years.
The 2017 Olema Cabernet Sauvignon opens with lovely aromas of blackberry, licorice whip, currant, vanilla and hints of cedar. On the palate, the medium- to full-bodied wine has a dense, juicy mouthfeel with blackberry compote and rhubarb pie notes along with tart cherry and toasted oak. A dark chocolatey texture carries through the strong finish with a pop of dark fruit and lingering oak spice.
