2023 Olema Chardonnay

Chardonnay bottle

Chardonnay

The Olema Chardonnay, made by Amici Cellars, is a blend produced from premier vineyards in California. A portion of the wine was aged in barrels for a rich, creamy texture with the remainder fermented in stainless steel which preserves the bright, vibrant fruit and crispness.

Vintage Notes

The 2023 harvest in Sonoma County will go down in history as a legendary growing season. Early rains were followed by a mild spring and summer. Harvest began in September and progressed steadily. The overall quality of the 2023 vintage is incredible, with concentrated flavors and great freshness.

Winemaking Notes

The 2023 Olema Chardonnay is a quintessential California Chardonnay, with notes of Anjoy pear, green apple, cinnamon stick, and wet stone on the nose. On the palate, the pear and green apple notes carry through along with caramelized pear and a roasted nut undertone, all with precise acidity that drives freshness balanced with the wine’s natural density.

A mildly spicy, very supple wine that should please a crowd. Mostly barrel-fermented, using grapes from coastal counties in Northern California. Notes of ripe pears, apples, nutmeg, butter and a touch of vanilla bean. Medium-bodied with good acidity. Drink now.

This affordable and generous wine is fermented mostly in tanks with oak staves suspended in them for flavor and texture. Made from 60% Sonoma grapes, it has a buttery vanillin aroma and good ripe pear and golden apple flavors. Easy in texture but balanced.
